Apple is opening up its world of iPhone recycling. There’s no equaliser option, and once again the controls aren’t as straightforward as they could be. The device is sufficiently Knightrider-esque to warrant the attention of floating voters, with a sleek black casing that unfortunately displays greasy paw prints to the full. Ironically, where a cover is needed most — on the 3-megapixel camera at the back of the F — you won’t find one. Of course unlike certain other touchscreen phones, the F has a trick up its sleeve so you can avoid touching the screen altogether when you’re writing texts or emails, and that’s a full slide-out Qwerty keypad. The Huawei P30 Pro’s photo skills rule the phone world. However, simple functions like accessing your phonebook and even hanging up can be needlessly troublesome — and somewhat embarrassing if you’re leaving a voicemail message that ends up being three minutes of you frantically pressing various parts of the screen.

As well as a VGA camera for video calls, there’s also a 3-megapixel camera with autofocus. The device is sufficiently Knightrider-esque to warrant the attention of floating voters, with a sleek black casing that unfortunately displays greasy paw prints to the full. Don’t show this again. However, simple functions like accessing your phonebook and even hanging up can be needlessly troublesome — and somewhat embarrassing if you’re leaving a voicemail message that ends up being three minutes of you frantically pressing various parts of the screen.
On the whole, Samsung has tended to steer clear of touchscreen mobiles — and it shows. If you’re buying a new iPhone, this should be your starting point. The F is a big leap for Samsung, which has generally stayed away from touchscreen phones, instead making masses of sliders, which are immensely popular around the world.
Samsung F – Full phone specifications
Annoyingly, the headphone jack is protected by a small cover that only serves to get in the way when you want to plug your headphones in quickly. Ironically, where a cover is needed most — on the 3-megapixel camera at the back of the F — you won’t find one.
An area it won’t be challenging in, though, is the music player, which is basic and lacking inspiration. However,it looks cute wit its sldind qwerty keyboard! Since then many other manufacturers, including HTC and LG, have produced handsets that share many of the iPhone’s design features — but the F remains the closest to it. But ultimately in use it’s frustrating as hell, and unfortunately for Samsung that’s what counts.
For some reason both the iPhone and F are slippy chappies — Two people in the office managed to pick the F up and drop it within seconds, which we don’t think is necessarily a design fault, but you’re best holding it firmly when you use it.
The Bad Web browser; camera could be better; user interface is fiddly at times. Galaxy Fold screens are breaking: This will vary depending on the use of 3G and HSDPA, but you shouldn’t find yourself cursing the fact you’ve left your charger at home too often. There’s also no flash, but the LED photo light does improve low-light shots.

When Samsung first unveiled the F earlier this year at 3GSM, there was no mistaking that it took its design cues from Apple’s iPhone. Beside the regular smartphone functionality, the Samsung F would feature a number of unique hardware characteristics. You can currently pick up a Samsung F from Vodafone for free on a monthly contract. The Bottom Line There’s no denying that the F looks like the iPhone, but in all fairness it’s a very different phone.
The F’s large touchscreen is nice to look at and responsive to touch.
Samsung F700 review
That said, Samsung does have a few aces at the ready to convince us to stop ror the iPhone, not least the presence of an actual keyboard and 3G HSDPA connectivity. Likewise the battery performance is good, lasting over samsun days with fairly heavy usage. Read all comments Post your comment. There is one niggle we had with it and that’s the lack of space at the top of the keypad, which depending on how you press the keys can be annoying.
Best Phones for You’ve got to admire Samsung for constantly challenging technological boundaries, but sometimes you get the feeling that its keenness to evolve hinders the final product. Furthermore the interface would feature drag-n-drop functionality which would enable users to control almost all of the features of the mobile without the need for stylus. The touchscreen itself is responsive enough and comes with VibeTonz technology providing a mini vibrate alert to let you know when a ‘button’ has been successfully selected.
This value-buy powerhouse does a lot right and very little wrong. The term ‘iPhone killer’ is growing a little wearied, and while Samsung’s F may look like Apple’s debut handset — it’s more of a sheep in wolf’s clothing. There are no fancy built-in sensors, so the screen doesn’t automatically change to landscape mode when you tip it over, or realise when your face is near it, or adjust the screen brightness.
The idea behind Samsung F surely reminds of the famous Apple iPhone but it doesn’t seem as a copy of the latter.
