The emotion in the solos and guitar don’t sound like Tolkki in the least bit, but the first verse sounds similar to rockers like I Walk to My Own Song. There’s a problem loading this menu right now. Yet I just don’t really like this one that much. Well done, Strato…well done. Alternate cover included in Japan edition. My favorite tracks over their recent albums have ironically all be written by Jens.

BUT yeah, there’s a “but”! Jens is back to doing heavy mithril with “Castles in the AIr” and “Dragons”. Western New Stratovraius Metalzine. Dragons- This one starts off on the keys as a fanfare and then boom!
Not a single song on here overstays its welcome, so that gives them the freedom to experiment with these additional styles and sounds. Not to say it isn’t signature Stratovarius because it totally isbut there are some definite changes to the rhythm guitar tone, and how much electronic and pop influence has made its way into the backing tracks and keyboards. I guess if you took the synths out, it would sound like a Tolkki-era song. Lauri Porra is laying down some intense bass lines, Jens is using more keys than ever before, and Matias is doing his usual god-like guitar work, but it’s less complex as opposed to the previous two records, which I won’t complain about.
Out of the Fog is power metal to the max, with some serious melodic attack and blistering solo work from Matias and catchy keys courtesy of Jens. Amazon Inspire Digital Educational Resources. I just don’t like it.
Stratovarius – Nemesis – Music
Although technically they have all the same elements as Matias’s works, there’s a noticeable difference reflecting their different backgrounds – Matias is from a grindcore band and some of his riffs and solos reflect this, while Jens is more keyboard-laden and the intro stratovariuw “Dragons” has a hint of Jens’s previous jazz-fusion nfmesis albums.
It’s still surprising to hear this kind of music from Stratovarius but at this point anything seems to be possible.
But after about my sixth play through something clicked and I got what the band were trying to do on ‘Nemesis’ which for me was marrying the classic sounds of past albums with their more recent works. Great songs, catchy melodies and overall a fantastic performance from the guys. Metal Mark March 5, The song has warm nemdsis modern keyboard sounds but also energizing riffs and a catchy main melody as well as a chorus you won’t forget anytime soon.
They don’t annoy me. Amazon Advertising Find, attract, and engage customers.
Nemesis by Stratovarius on Spotify
I don’t know what it is about this one that just makes me dislike it so much. It effectively incorporates, within its structure, various elements from throughout the entire disc including the dreaded techno-keys, but they get a pass stratovarous this one for being well utilized.
After such a long history, Stratovarius proves to be a band at the top of their game. The songs are straovarius as good, but too many of them are stylistically similar to each other rather than the more wide-spread collection of songs that came before. I am an advanced guitar player and vocalist so my expertise are in those two subjects so those are the two places I’m most critical of.
The chorus is quite nice, but I still feel the guitar is quite lacking. Let’s take our classical, reasonably melodic power metal and end a slump by sticking some huge-sounding guitar tone onto that basic formula and strahovarius things off by adding a pronounced dance sound on about half of the tracks.
More by Stratovarius
Like the singing and the guitars, they hurl soaring melodies at the audience for more atmosphere and drama. The fast songs on the album don’t tend to fall into the same category as previous anthems strahovarius have, however. There are still visions of greatness on this album though. I really like this song’s use of Kotipelto’s voice.
This was encouraging to see too. This is probably the best European power metal record in years. I do think sfratovarius might be too long though.
Well done, Strato…well done. This is by no means a terrible album. The key is in its simple presentation and soaring melodies — no extra fluff needed. Because literally, it actually does harken back to those days.
