Starter sprag can be a bit fragile so if it struggles to start there is obviously something wrong, don’t force it to start over and over. But it was in that the Daytona moved forward more significantly. Durable stainless steel exhaust headers with cast outlet manifold to blend cylinder head exhaust port shape into exhaust, maximising engine power. Real power delivered well with no vices. It’s used mainly for ride outs on sunny days and I have absolutely no complaints about it. Out of the performance rat race, the classily styled Triumph is laden with character and has enough versatility to be considered an everyday machine. Four stroke, transverse three cylinder, DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder. Total bargain these things were over eight grand a few years ago. Great bike with excellent build quailty far better than Honda!
It is fast, reliable and cheap to maintain and gives me all the power I want from a big sport bike. Yes I could have gone for 955l slightly newer jap rocket but the Union Jack on the front of this bright yellow bike together with a single sided swinging arm won on looks alone.
Its beauty is much more than skin 595i though and under the sharp new exterior beats a highly refined, fuel-injected, three-cylinder heart.
TRIUMPH DAYTONA 955I (1997-2006) Review
This latest version reverted to a double-sided swingarm to reduce weight and improve stiffness, and new bodywork sharpened the styling of the Daytona. The Daytona i has proved, over the years and miles, daytoba balance is everything.
Buying experience I bought from a friend from work who I knew took meticulous care of the bike and always garaged. To me just minor things New styling and numerous minor engine and chassis updates improved the performance slightly.
Single shock absorber, 5. Poor dealer pdi but thats not the bikes fault! Feels eaytona solid at speed and can be pointed with great accuracy. Starter sprag can be a bit fragile so if it struggles to start there is obviously something wrong, don’t force it to start over and over. Bought the bike 4 months ago after 3 years with a Fazer. The Triumph Daytona i is a sport bike manufactured by Triumph from to I love just carving through B roads in 4th and 5th gear just so easy.
I was sold on the reliability, good reviews and “Made in England”.
Relatively rare and utterly beautiful. Tubular, fabricated aluminium alloy perimeter, swingarm single sided, aluminium alloy with eccentric chain adjuster. Major update from previous i. At the end of dayttona life the Triumph Daytona i had a bargain new price.
USED BIKE TEST: Triumph Daytona i – Motorcycle Sport & Leisure
Not only is the stock non-adjustable daytina made for King Kong-size hands, but engagement doesn’t begin until the last quarter-inch of movement. Insome minor changes were made including the deletion of the Union Jack logos.
Conclusion – looks like a sports bike, drives like a really uncomfortable tourer and spontaneously corrodes faster than you’d believe have informed Triumph – no reponse yet! The i is very deceptive in how it generates its speed. Triumph’s fast and sophisticated Daytona i flagship provides a unique blend of searing performance, real-world practicality and three-cylinder character. At 955o Daytona’s heart beats a highly-evolved, fuel-injected cc three-cylinder engine that provides a heady peak power output of PS, with a great spread of power throughout the rev-range.
Keep the engine, but change the chassis and styling. The valve unit’s impressive PS bhp peak output, generous midrange torque and soulful exhaust note combine to give high performance with a distinctive edge.
Great bike with a fantastic sound, handling confidence inspiring. Sequential multipoint electronic fuel injection. The Daytona’s starting procedure is simple: Ad closing in second s
